Effortless Setup… Perfectly Tunable... Hard as Nails!
If you are looking to upgrade your bowhunting or 3D sight, you can rest assured that HHA has created a product that will check most of your boxes in one or another configuration.
The guys and galls over at HHA Sports decided to double down and take everything they have learnt about building hard as nails hunting bowsights, and created a platform instead of just another sight, while sidestepping the trap of giving too many options!
The HHA NYTRX falls in the same category as the Axcel Driver and UV Slider. Extended distance, side wheel adjustable with micro windage adjustments.
The Nitty Gritty:
Mount
The HHA NYTRX comes in three possible, interchangable, configurations.
The most flexible is the Dovetail Mount, the most robust is the Side mount, and if you have a bow that has this feature, the Picatinny mount is also available. Do you have a bow with an Inline mount sight option like a Mathews Bridge-Lock, simply flipping the windage block allows you to mount the dovetail directly inline (something you cannot do with a sight like the Axcel Driver, for instance, without compromising a lot of the scope visibility)
Scopes
All the scopes have a mechanical rheostat function to control the brightness of the fibres, and all the fibers are, in turn, protected with the ARMOR pin carrier. The heads all have macro and micro windage adjustment, and the head placement is infinitely adjustable because the head slot into a grooved slot of the adjustment body and can slide and be locked in any position.
The next brilliant design choice was to make the scopes interchangeable for an upright 1-pin and 2-pin configuration, or a side mounted, horizontal 3-pin over/under sight (and even up to a 4-pin.) Pins and sight tape indicators run hand in hand. So whether you are shooting competitions, or hunting, or a bit of both, the best of all styles is available to you!
Extended Distance
The new gear rack allows you to zero the sight rig ht at the edge of its ability, and extend your aiming distance to the absolute max of your clearance!
The Pro version of the NYTRX also gives you the option to run multiple sight tape wheels according to your different arrow setups. Once they are all sighted in, its simply a matter of swopping the wheel for the matching arrow setup and you are ready to go!
For distance reference, I shoot a 60lbs bow at 29” draw, and my total sight range is 110yds with a 500gr arrow. A lighter arrow or longer draw will give you even more range!
Adjustability and Accuracy
We all know that the longer the distance, the more attention you need to pay to the small things to ensure your sight is absolutely perfect, and your shot placement remains exactly where you planned and released it. So HHA built in 1st, 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment into the sight with robust bolts in lieu of fine adjustement screws.
Conversely, because its something that you might adjust a bit more frequently, both the Macro and Micro Windage adjustment is tool-less.
It feels like HHA made a design decision. The least amount of moving parts without compromising ease of use. If it made sense to be metal, it is made out of metal, and if it needs to remain solidly locked in place, a bigger bolt was chosen instead of a smaller one.
Even the sightlight is now a USB rechargable unit. Never get stuck again racing to find replacement batteries the night before your hunt because you forgot to switch off your sight light. Like most of the design choices, it just makes sense.
Sight Setup:
The sight comes preset with a setup tape on the zero marker. What that means is if you do your setup right, your 20yd marker will automagically lock on 20 yds.
So step 1 is to shoot an arrow at 20yds, adjust your windage for left and right and the scope up and down until you have it perfect.
If like me, your arrow speed is around 265fps, you will have a 60yd marker around #55 to #60. Move the adjustment dial, lock in place and shoot an arrow at 60yds. Adjust the distance dial until you are spot on (for me that was on marker #61.)
Tighten your adjustement wheel, and lock it in place. Select your corresponding sight tape, and stick it on the wheel with 60yds lined up exactly under the indicator pin.
If you release the wheel and turn it back to 20yds, the sight will lock exactly on 20yds.
This was probably one of the fastest sight tapes I have built in forever. I shot two arrows on 20 and 2 arrows on 60yds to confirm.
Slightly overconfident, I decided to take a shot on Rexxie at 80-ish yds. 100% spot on for distance! The next day I grabbed my scope and shot a video of 4 shots on 100+ yds in slow motion… I shot a few high, realised I should probably check my distance with the range finder and drilled the last one dead centre. But since I ran out of space on my phone, I have no video… so you know what they say…
“Just like in Vegas, If there is no video… it didn’t happen!”

In Use:
I still have to take the sight out hunting, but I am very happy just in my day-to-day shooting. The NYTRX is about 15% lighter than my previous over-under sight (A 3-pin Sureloc Lethal Weapon)
It is a smaller overall package, but really solid. Nothing has vibrated loose, and I am 100% confident in my distances.
What I didn’t initially apreciate is the simple way in which this sight is put together. There is nothing “fancy” or unique to the sight. Which means you can strip it adjust it and clean it with a simple archery alen key.
There is a video of an HHA Employee hitting a NYTRX with a mallet. I don’t know why the dude is so angry at the sight because mine is extremely well behaved! 😉
Seriously though… I can see this sight taking a few big knocks and still being spot on perfect, (which I wouldn’t necesarily try with a few other sights I have owned.)
